Colombo Industrie Tessili, FSC Italy and Colori Vivi Impresa Sociale present the first edition of the
Forests are Fashion: The Forest in a Dress award.
Participation in the competition is totally free of charge. The deadline for applications is March 30, 2025 at 24:00 CET.
The forest in a dress is the fashion design award sponsored by Colombo Industrie
Textiles, FSC Italy and Colori Vivi Impresa Sociale to raise awareness of responsible use of resources
forestry in the sector in fashion that sees our country among the world leaders. The purpose
of the award is to draw the attention of designers, industrial production and brands to the
origin of cellulosic raw material, thus stimulating young designers to the
design and production of FSC-certified clothing items. It is indeed important to note
that some of the textile materials frequently used are wood cellulose derivatives
and therefore identifiable as materials of forestry origin. These materials are called man-made
artificial cellulosic and are identified as: viscose, modal, lyocel, cellulose acetate and bamboo.
The formula chosen is the design workshop: a unique experience where the
selected finalists will be able to participate in the design activity alongside experts from FSC, Colombo Industrie Tessili and Sartoria Colori Vivi Impresa Sociale. The most deserving projects will have access to the design workshop and receive the FSC Project Certificate while also being published in the FSC database. The FSC public database is an international portal accessible to everyone, where, in addition to FSC-certified companies, you can also find the list of project certifications issued.
